10:00AM – 10:30AM NAMUR Open Architecture
Developments in Information Technology (IT) over the last years led to new products and tools to improve operational performance in brownfield and greenfield plants.
Starting with a life demo of a web-based app, an example will be given for one of these new tools. Plant topology, required for such an app, covering registered field devices with digital communication capabilities and additional components ensuring corresponding connectivity will be described. Opportunities for appropriate enhancements of brown field plants will be provided.
Based on that example, the concept, defined by NAMUR, will be described. Starting with basic information about NAMUR, pros and cons of the current automation structure will be discussed. The concept of NAMUR Open Architecture (NOA) will be described in the context of IT innovation. The presentations will give some ideas for typical uses cases, which will be covered in the future by IIoT based solutions related to NOA.
Finally, the presentation will describe the important role of FieldComm Group in that context
